Vocali Chamber Chorale, an exciting new addition to the Adelaide classical music scene, will present its premiere performance at the Tynte Street Baptist Church North Adelaide on Sunday 21 October at 2:30 pm.

Formed in February this year by a number of Adelaide singers, the ensemble was founded to explore the members' interest in diverse and challenging a cappella chamber repertoire, sacred and secular, from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary material.

In June Vocali was pleased to appoint Alex Roose as its foundational Music Director. Alex has returned to Adelaide after ten years in England, and brings considerable experience as a conductor, soloist and ensemble singer to the position.

Under his dynamic leadership the ensemble of seventeen will present Ave! - Marian Music across the Centuries.

The Concert will feature early music from composers such as Dufay, Guerrero, Josquin, Parsons and Gorczycki, the Romantic Era's Mendelssohn Magnificat and Rachmaninov Bogoroditse Devo, and from the twentieth and twenty-first century works by Poulenc, Britten, Tavener, Villette, Pärt and Gjeilo.
