When the ambitious vision to build ANZAC Cottage for a returned wounded soldier was underway in 1916, what did the suburb of Mt Hawthorn look like? How many houses and businesses were in existence? What facilities did the citizens enjoy?
The Friends of ANZAC Cottage will be delivering a ‘snapshot’ of 1916 Mt Hawthorn at its Open Day on Sunday, June 3 with talks on this subject at 1:45pm and 2:45pm. The Cottage, situated at 38 Kalgoorlie St, Mt Hawthorn, will be open from 1pm to 4pm for visitors to learn more about its fascinating history.
