We all feel great pride in our Australian made goods and the South West Rail and Heritage Centre is no exception. At our Open Day on January 28 from 10am to 2pm we invite visitors to “Trek the Aussie Made Trail”. The challenge is to identify the Australian made items from our collection by solving the clues. You will be surprised at the inventiveness and creativity as displayed by our countrymen and women!!
Our resident groups will also be in action on the day, with the Boyanup Foundation Blacksmiths sweating it out in their forge, the Preston River Old Machinery Group working away on their restoration of our vintage machinery, the South West Model Railway Group running miniature trains on their layout and of course the Capel Men’s Shed displaying their handiwork while the Picnic Van and sausage sizzle will deal with your thirst and hunger pangs in the Aussie tradition.
South West Rail and Heritage Centre is located in Turner St Boyanup and entry is by donation. For more information, please contact Norm by emailing swrhc@railheritagewa.org.au or call 0459 712 552.
